Beware! The spirits are all arounds us.
A fast-paced paranormal thriller driven by incredible character development and superb dialogue. It's obvious the author's imagination has collided with his knowledge of the Voodoo culture and New Orleans to make for a "hold your breath" tale. Those like me who were unfamiliar with poppets, gris gris and Loas will find that part of the book intriguing, as well as the historical foundation for Voodoo. Can't wait for the sequel.

Great read (Billy Cole)

As I sit here, sipping on my coffee, after just finishing this book, I have been collecting my thoughts to share with you how I felt about this read. First I would like to know more about this character SAMOL, who wrote the book. I am convinced that this person lives in New Orleans as they are too familiar with how to really make you feel as if you are there. Like a beignet dipped in café au lait, I went for total immersion reading this wonderful book, bathing my imagination with this mystical supernatural take of New Orleans voodoo life. Storms of the Loa is suspenseful and action-packed. It’s filled with occult intrigue and urban noir, but, to me, it was more than a supernatural thriller.... It has all the tropes you would expect in a New Orleans Voodoo thriller like voodoo dolls and zombies, mambos and witch doctors, crimes and hurricanes, detectives and damsels, and so on, but the character development always takes precedence over the action-packed pace. The novel also presents one of the most fascinatingly evil villains I’ve encountered in a long time. It’s intriguing and fun with characters that would interest anyone, even if occult thrillers aren’t your thing. Plus, it offers a great fictional tour of the New Orleans French Quarter.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Its length did not detract from its ability to engage me. The characters were compelling and relatable, weaving an excellent narrative about the dynamics of family, friendship, and rivalry.
I would suggest this book to anyone, particularly those fascinated by small-town life in the Southeastern United States.
